How to Back Up and Restore Your Mozilla Bookmarks

Backing up your personal data is something which we all should do periodically. Now in Mozilla backing up and restoring your Bookmarks couldn’t be any easier. Although there are many ways to achieve the task, the following one is probably the easiest.

Step 1:

First of all start your browser.

On the Menu bar, go for “Bookmarks” -> “Organize Bookmarks”. The following window will open up,

Step 3:

On the left hand side click on the item “All Bookmarks”, and it will show all the Bookmarks saved by you on the right hand side box. Select the all the items which you want to save and click on the “Import and Backup” option above.

Step 4:

Now from the drop down list click on “Export HTML” as shown in the above picture.

Step 5:

Once you do so you will be asked to give the “filename” and the “location” where the backup file will be saved. A HTML file containing all of your Bookmarks will be saved in that location.

Now whenever you need to restore your Bookmarks information in case of any System crash or if you want to transfer the Bookmarks from Mozilla to any other web browser, you can use this HTML file. For example, if you are importing the data into Mozilla, under the “Import and Backup” option you will find “Import HTML”, click on it. The following window will pop up,

Click on “Next” and you will be asked to give the location to the HTML file. Do it and all of your Bookmarks will be restored.
