Before calling out a plumber to unclog a blocked sink, you may wish to try and solve the problem yourself. One method to use is to use a plunger by pressing it up and down with enough force and sustained pressure to unclog it. If this does not work, then it might appear the block is too rigid and may requyire the services of a professional plumber.

Step 1

Place the mouth of the plunger over the drain.

Step 2

Formly press the handle of the plunger down towards the drain and then release the pressure.

Step 3

Continue pressing the plunger up and down until the water level in the sink begins to decrease.

Step 4

Once all the water has drained out of the sink the clog has been removed.
