The best way to find a good tradesman starts by talking with family or friends that have used plumbers, electricians, etc… and have had excellent service. Be sure to ask them questions and find other references for the workers. The number one rule of thumb is do not go through the telephone book and randomly call different tradesman. You can contact the Better Business Bureau, the Buy With Confidence in South England, and always check with the trade association to ensure the tradesman is registered. 

Talk to references, do not take the word of the tradesman or others that may say, “Oh, Tom used John and he was excellent.” Talk to Tom.
