How to Treat Different Types of Acne

The main types of acne include blackheads and whiteheads also called pimples. Just because they are both forms of acne, they do have different treatment options. Blackheads are the result of your own pores failing to drain the sebum from the pores. Sebum is nothing more than your own natural oils, but then bacteria begins to take over and then the pore will become clogged which will result in acne in the form of a blackhead or whitehead.

Now, that you know what they are you are wondering how to treat the problem. First, do not use any type of oil-based cosmetics on your skin. This will just add to your skins oil and help to clog the pores, which will create more acne. You need to begin using water based products or non-comedogenic products. Non-comedogenic products are clog free products.

Causes

Another thing to be sure that you stop, is quit using abrasives. Irritating your skin causes your skin to try its best to repair the damage, which of course will bring on more oil producing measures by your skin to try to repair itself.

The first thing you should prior to going to bed at night is use a warm damp cloth for about 15 to 20 minutes. This will help to loosen the clogs. Be sure the cloth is very clean and sterile. Some people even boil the cloth prior to putting it on their face, but of course let it cool a bit so they do not burn their face.

Treatments

Beta hydroxyl acid is an organic acid that helps exfoliate the skin, which allows dead skin to slough quicker and open the pores easier. When the pores are open, blackheads will come to the surface, which will help in removing them. Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% is another great product to use to clean your face and get rid of blackheads. The best product on the market is the Revlon Stainless Steel Blackhead remover. The way it works is that it uses a circular pressure pad that will push the blackhead to the surface for removal. Do not pinch and squeeze blackheads!

Pimples or whiteheads are close to the same as blackheads, but the treatments are totally different. When you first see a pimple do not squeeze or pop it as you will more than likely want to do. You need to wait until you see the puss near the skin. If you pop it before this time, you can cause an infection, which may scar.

The best way to rid your face of pimples is when you see the puss near the skin, you will need to gather a few items, which include a sewing needle, rubbing alcohol, warm water, and gauze. Be sure the needle is sterile. Wash your face thoroughly. Now, dip the needle into the rubbing alcohol and apply a small amount to your fingers and the pimple, ensuring that everything that might touch your face is sterile. If you have bacteria on your hand, you may also cause an infection or a new breakout of more pimples. Very gently prick the white head of the pimple, now using the gauze apply pressure on both sides of the pimple. Squeeze out the core of the pimple gently until all the yellow secretion is gone and the liquid runs clear. Wipe the area with alcohol-dipped gauze.

You can find various products today that do aid in keeping blackheads and pimples away, but you must use these products every day or they will not do any good. The best way to treat acne is to start before you have acne by cleaning your face with products that deep clean.
