With the release of MS Word 2007, MS Word is no more only a word processor with just a few features installed. Many useful features come with this release. You can add various types of objects like images, Excel spreadsheet, table, etc in the document. In this we will be discussing how to insert a picture into a document. To do so, just follow these steps,

Step 1

First of all open the document in MS Word and place the cursor at the position where you want the picture to be inserted.

Step 2

Now click on the “Insert” button on to Menu Bar.

Step 3

You will see “Picture” icon there, click on it and a pop window will open up. Navigate to the placed where the picture is saved on you computer and click on that particular picture. And then go for “Insert” button right at the bottom.

Step 4

You can see the picture inserted at that position. Now with Word 2007 you can resize the image here itself. And if you want more, right click on the picture and go for “Format Picture..”. The following window will pop up. As you can see various options for editing the pictures are available for you.

Step 1

Wrap the around the shirt collar so it lays flat against the front part of the shirt. Overlap the tie so the wider part overlaps the narrower part.

Step 2

Tuck the wider portion of the tie underneath the narrower part. Pull any extra slack so the tie length is maintained as much as possible (without getting it to tight or wrinkling the tie).

Step 3

Bring the wider portion of the tie back overtop of the narrower part. As in step 2, pull any extra slack in the tie to maintain length.

Step 4

Bend the wider portion of the tie and push it up through the gap between the collar. Pull it all the way through the gap to get any extra slack out.

Step 5

Finally, slide the wider portion of the tie between the narrower portion and the part of the tie that you overlapped in step 3. Pull the tie nice and snug by pressing up on the knot while gently pulling down on the rest of the tie.

Now that you have seen many ways to get media from a website to your hard disk, I want to tell you one more, and, perhaps the easiest way to save an image from any website. This method will work irrespective of the browser or whatever website you are visiting.

Step 1:

First of all open the website and select the image you want to save. You might be excited to just to right click on the image and choose “Save link As” to save it to your hard disk. But believe me, not all sites allow you to do so. So go to the next step.

Step 2:

To save the image just Drag the image to from the Web Page to desktop or wherever you want to save it. Open the destination folder in explorer and side by side the Web Page also. And drag the image from the Web Page to the Explorer. And the image will be saved on that location with the corresponding folder.

Step 3:

As you can see the name of the file is a weird one, so better rename it.

Taskbar is the place on your monitor’s screen where all the programs are launched and you can have full control over them. But although a Windows system does not allow controlling the behavior of the components that much efficiently like inux systems do, one common option to auto-hide it is certainly available. Thus when you auto-hide the taskbar you get more space on the screen. To do so, follow these simple steps as illustrated,

Step 1:

Right Click on any free area on the taskbar and in the window that pops up click on “Properties. See in the screenshot,

Step 2:

Once you do so the following window will open up. You can see two options there, “Taskbar” and “Start Menu”. Make sure you are on the “Taskbar” option here.

Step 3:

As you can see there are a number of options available. But for our purpose we need only two of them named “Auto-hide the taskbar” and “Keep the taskbar on top of other windows”. Check both the boxes. And press “Ok”.

Now you can see whenever your taskbar is idle it will auto-hide itself. And when you need it just keep your mouse pointer on any area where the taskbar should be and It will display again. Checking the other option “Keep the taskbar on top of other windows” will enable it show above other windows if any.

Wallpaper is the image which shows up on the background of your desktop. By default when you install windows it comes with a default wallpaper but you can always change it according to your own tastes. You can do as said in the following steps,

Step 1:

Click on any empty area on desktop where no icon is there. And the following window will pop up. Go for “Properties”.

Step 2:

After clicking on the “properties”, the following window will pop up. On the above you will see a many options, click on the “Desktop” as shown in the following screenshot.

Step 3:

You can see a list there named “Background”. If you do now want any picture to be set as your wallpaper then click on “None” there. Otherwise click on “Browse” to select the image you want to choose. Another window to choose the picture will open up, browse to the location where the picture is stored and click on “open”. You can see the preview of the picture there itself. If you like it then click “Ok”, otherwise again browse for another one.

In Windows XP there is another direct way to select the wallpaper. Just open the picture in explore you want to select as a wallpaper. And “Right Click” on it. You will see an option “Set as Desktop Background” as shown in the picture. And the wallpaper will be changed automatically.

So now whenever you are bored of your desktop wallpaper just follow the above steps to change it.
