Start Firefox, on the top menu, click ‘Tools’.

Step 2:

Inside Tools menu, click on ‘Options’.

Step 3:

Once Options is open, click on ‘Privacy’ tab towards its top.

Step 4:

In Cookies group, change the setting ‘Keep Until’ to ‘I Close Firefox’.

Step 5:

Click OK. Now all your cookies will expire everytime you close Firefox.

Step 1:

Start Firefox, click on ‘File’. Then select ‘import’…

Step 2:

It will open the Import Wizard. Select ‘Microsoft Internet Explorer’ and press ‘Next’.

Step 3:

Select the items that you would like to import and press next.

Step 4:

Firefox will then import your bookmarks and other items. Press finish to close the wizard.

Step 1:

Start Firefox, in the adress bar. Type ‘about:config’ and Press Enter to navigate.

Step 2:

It will ask for your confirmation. Confirm to proceed.

Step 3:

Now the configuration settings of Firefox would appear.

Step 4:

In the ‘Filter’ Field. Type ‘browser.sess’ and double click on ‘browser.sessionhistory.max_entries’ preference Name.

Step 5:

You will see a default value of 50. Input a lesser number so that Firefox will maintain a smaller history and consume low resources.

Step 6:

Now filter ‘browser.cache.memory.enable’ and change the value to ‘true’ bu double-clicking. This will enable browser cache memory.

Step 7:

After that Click Tools in the top menu, then select ‘Options’.

Step 8:

Under ‘Privacy’ tab; uncheck the setting ‘Remember what I’ve download’ under ‘History’. Press OK. This would disable the logging of your downloads and free yet some more memory for other tasks.

Here are some basic steps you need to take:

Step 1: Log into your Google Analytics account here: Google Analytics

Step 2: Click on User Manager tab

Step 3: Click Add User

Step 4: Enter the user’s email address

This should be their Google account email address. You may also need to enter their first and last name as entered when they opened their own Google account. This is not always required, however. This is the address that they use to access various Google products such as their own Analytics account, webmaster tools, Adsense, etc.

Step 5: You can grant them User access or Administrator

You have two options here. You can grant them simple access which allows them to view reports only or you can give them administrative access which allows a user to make changes to the account. This should only be granted to another member of your web development team or someone who you want administration access. Never grant anyone administrator access if you only wish them to view reports.

Step 6: Select the Profiles

Step 7: You are then required to add the profiles to the website you selected to allow access to in terms of the report they can view.

They can now log into their account and see the reports.

Nowadays internet is being used every where around the globe. Although it all started with English, the trend of developing web pages in native languages is increasing day by day. But not all of your favorite web sites are in your spoken language or may be the web page you are visiting is not in English and want to have it translated into that. So, a one click to translate a web page in to your preferred language will be very useful.

Google has provided some useful services in its Language Tool Kit. And we will use one of them for our purpose.

Step 1

First of all open the following address in your browser http://translate.google.com. You will see various options there. We will use the simplest one of them.

Step 2

In the box provided at the top paste the URL of the web site you want to translate. Then from the drop down list select the language in which the original website is and in the second list the language to which you want it to be translated. And click on the “Translate” button. And you will see the whole website’s content in the chosen language. And if you don’t know the language in which the website is you can go for “Detect Language” in the first drop down list.

Now that you like this feature and would like to use it again and again, so it is obviously not feasible to do it the above said way. So here is the simpler way to do this. On the Google page you have opened, scroll down and click on the option “Get translation tools now”.

You will be redirected to another page. And you can add a button on your browser which will enable to translate any webpage with just a single click.

During the last few years Firefox has gained much popularity among the web users as a friendly and a fast web browser and its popularity is increasing as judged by its increasing market share in the browser wars. But the default settings are not the optimized ones if you are accessing the Internet through a fast broadband connection. The following tips will make your Firefox load web pages faster.

Before trying these tricks, you should know that a web browser interacts with the web server via HTTP or Hyper Text Transfer Protocol which is nothing but the medium through which a browser and web server talk. Now the development team has set some restriction on this communication keeping a wide range of users in mind. Some settings are optimized for low internet connectivity. But if you think you have a really fast connection, then go for the following steps.

Step 1:

First of all start your Firefox browser and type the following in the location bar “about:config”. In Firefox 3 you will be warned not to enter the page but do not worry, enter the page.

Step 2:

Once you enter the page you will see a long list and in the top a text field marked “Filter”. Type “http.pipelining” there and you will be presented with a filtered list as shown in the screenshot,

Step 3:

At the last column of every row you will see a field called “Value”. Now double click on the entry for ”network.http.pipeling” and the last column Value should change to “true” from the default “false”.

Step 4:

There will be another entry for “network.http.pipeling.maxrequests” whose default value will be 4. Double click on it and a pop up window will open up. Enter the value of 30 and press “OK”.

Step 5:

Now again search for the following entry in the Filter “http.proxy.pipelining” and change its value to “true”.

Step 6:

Right click on any blank area on the browser and right click. Go for “New” -> “Integer”. The following window will open up. Type the following string there and hit “OK”.

Step 7:

In the following window enter the value “0” and press “OK” again. And you are done.

Now when you restart your Firefox again you will definitely see an increase in the browsing speed.

Saving online streaming media on to hard disk can be a problem. Whilst hackers around the globe have devised many tricks to do it and many commercial softwares have been released to do so, here we present a very simple way to achieve this task.

Step 1:

First of all, my advice will be to clear your cache. Cache is the place in your hard drive where a Browser stores all temporary files of a page when it has been fully loaded. Now to clear your cache in Mozilla, click “Tools” -> “Clear Private Data” and the following window will open up. Check in “Cache” and press “Clear Private Data Now”.

Step 2:

Now open the streaming media you want to save. Let it stream fully. Once it completes open another tab and type “about:cache” on the Location Bar. Following window will show up. You can see a Hyper Link named “List Cache Entries” under the section named “Disk cache Device”, click on it and you will be taken to another page.

Step 3:

There you will see a long list of entries with hyper links with an identifier “Key”. This “Key” is what Mozilla assigned to every cache entry it has downloaded from the website. Now from that you have to find out your desired media content. Be it an image or embedded media. Sometimes depending on the number of entries, it can be really hard to find it. But just search there with the website name, the type of the content and especially the size. You will eventually get it. To confirm click on it and Mozilla will show you the content. Once you have found it, right click on it and go for “Save Link as” and give the location where you want to save it. And you are done.

Until now we have been talking about various ways to save media contents like images, videos, but not always you will succeed due to a number of reasons. Your browser does save every media content on hard disk when you are watching it online. So here we present the easiest and the most reliable way to do so. Just follow these steps,

Step 1:

First of all, open the Website on your browser and let it load fully.

Step 2:

All the media contents are saved on a folder named “Cache” on your hard disk. On a Windows system, the path for Mozilla Cache folder is as follows, “C:\Documents and Settings\Windows_user_Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Profile_Name\Cache”. Here “Windows_user_Name” is the name of the user under which you are logged in and “Profile_Name” is the name of profile which you are using on Mozilla. So open this folder on you explorer.

Step 3:

Mozilla doesn’t save all the files with some reasonable name, all will be alphanumeric and without any extensions. So you have to identify it. The best way to do so is to arrange all the icons according to their size and copy the file with the largest size since you know the file you need is video file. Sometimes if you cannot guess, then just go for a trial and error method. You will get it and when you do, copy and paste it to somewhere else. Rename the file with a more human readable name and put a compatible extension. And you are done.

Before performing these steps don’t forget to clear your cache, it will save you a lot of time. And also don’t close your browser before saving the file because as soon as you close the browser the file will be deleted.

Now that you have seen many ways to get media from a website to your hard disk, I want to tell you one more, and, perhaps the easiest way to save an image from any website. This method will work irrespective of the browser or whatever website you are visiting.

Step 1:

First of all open the website and select the image you want to save. You might be excited to just to right click on the image and choose “Save link As” to save it to your hard disk. But believe me, not all sites allow you to do so. So go to the next step.

Step 2:

To save the image just Drag the image to from the Web Page to desktop or wherever you want to save it. Open the destination folder in explorer and side by side the Web Page also. And drag the image from the Web Page to the Explorer. And the image will be saved on that location with the corresponding folder.

Step 3:

As you can see the name of the file is a weird one, so better rename it.

Backing up your personal data is something which we all should do periodically. Now in Mozilla backing up and restoring your Bookmarks couldn’t be any easier. Although there are many ways to achieve the task, the following one is probably the easiest.

Step 1:

Once you do so you will be asked to give the “filename” and the “location” where the backup file will be saved. A HTML file containing all of your Bookmarks will be saved in that location.

Now whenever you need to restore your Bookmarks information in case of any System crash or if you want to transfer the Bookmarks from Mozilla to any other web browser, you can use this HTML file. For example, if you are importing the data into Mozilla, under the “Import and Backup” option you will find “Import HTML”, click on it. The following window will pop up,
