Clean the ceramic tiles thoroughly.

Step 2:

Sand the surface of the tiles with a fine sand paper to roughen it a bit.

Step 3:

Clean the tile again with water and TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) solution. Rinse with water again and let it dry for 48 hours.

Step 4:

Using a low nap roller apply a coat of primer on the tile surface. Do the edges with a paint brush and let it dry.  Similarly apply the second coat of primer and let it dry overnight.

Step 5:

Use an oil based paint or one having Urethane resin content. Apply it evenly using a paint brush. Apply another thin layer using a roller.

Step 6:

Let it dry completely and repeat the same for the second coat.

Step 7:

The grout can be painted with a contrast color using an artist brush. It will take 2 weeks for the paint to completely dry and cure.

Step 8:

Your painted tile is ready.

Clean the sub floor well before beginning the project of installing ceramic tiles.

Step 2:

Mix the tile adhesive according to instructions of manufacturer.

Step 3:

Apply the ahesive to the cleaned surface.

Step 4:

Level the adhesive to make it even.

Step 5:

Make ridges for a strong bond using any sharped edge tool, like edge of the trowel.

Step 6:

Place the tile on the surface.

Step 7:

Similarly place other tiles and check their level to ensure they are even and in line with each other with use of tile spacers in between tiles.

Step 8:

Grout the tiles when dry using a matching colored grout.
