The story of Philip Smith starts with a wonderful motto: ‘Lifestyle is what you choose to make of it”. Well, it’s not much related to becoming a pharmacist, but I assure you it guided Philip in his attempt of becoming a good pharmacist and live a better life. In January 2006, he decided to start fresh after working at a couple of pharmacies in Newcastle and moved to Dorrigo. It was a great opportunity that Philip found through Raven’s Recruitment, a local recruiting company.
Even if he moved to a smaller community, the pharmacist job proved to be an excellent opportunity. Philip had time to keep up with the latest news in the pharmacy domain with drug rep information, AusPharmList or Medscape. Moreover, he enjoyed the chance of getting to know people and the local doctor, situation that happens rarely in big cities. The learning process was different from working in a city pharmacy and Philip never missed a chance, working closely with clients and practicing his pharmacy skills. Working in a country pharmacy was a fulfilling experience for Philip and everyone should try it.
