How to Become a Medical Receptionist – Real Example

There are many persons interested in working as medical receptionists – it’s a job that allows you to use communication skills, computer knowledge and maybe the best part is that you get to communicate with patients. Monique was looking for a medical receptionist job, but first of all, she wanted to attend a course in order to be qualified. She soon found out that there were few companies that provided medical receptionist training courses.

Fortunately, she was hired for the position, but only because she knew how to use the computer and take calls. As she was working in a medical office, Monica was also offered the chance to attend a training course. In time, she gathered experience in the medical field and she still works as a medical receptionist, even if she doesn’t have a medical assistant diploma. As you can see, becoming a medical receptionist is easy if you have solid PC and phone handling skills. Of course, a medical assistant diploma is an advantage, but if you are familiarized with the medical terminology and medical records, this should not be a problem.
