When she first contacted the One Stop services for finding a job that matched her skills and goals, Abigail Liu knew exactly what she wanted for her first job. Freshly graduated from the Montgomery County Public Schools, Abigail wanted a job that wouldn’t be pressuring, in a small environment that would allow her work consistently. She was not interested in working with clients and at the same time, she wanted full-time benefits. After contacting the One Stop Services, a career specialist discussed with her in order to find the perfect job for Abigail.
She was directed to the General Counsel’s Office of the Department of Veterans Affairs, where a file clerk position was vacant. Abigail had a successful interview and was hired as a part-time file clerk. After a short period, Abigail had the chance to prove that she can handle more tasks and her responsibilities expanded, leading to a full time position as a file clerk. So far, this is the perfect place for Abigail Liu to grow. Who knows what future has in store?
