Becoming a Paralegal – Real Example

Jen Walters was looking for a new job in the fall of 2007, feeling like her days in the mortgage industry are close to an end. Just like other millions of Americans, she was worried about not being able to pay her bills in case the new job proves to be a wrong choice. Jen brainstormed in order to see what career would use her skills and abilities at their best, and finally she found that becoming a paralegal would be a good choice. The thing was that Jen didn’t have any studies in the field so she had to go back to school.

Jen researched thoroughly in order to find a paralegal school that was accredited by the ABA. It was imperative to obtain the highest qualification and certification; otherwise her paralegal career would be compromised from the beginning. The first time she attended the courses of SF State, in spring 2008, Jen thought she’s never learn the paralegal terminology. Fortunately, after long nights of study, supportive teachers and classmates, Jen started to integrate in this complex and interesting world.

Jen also worked as an internship at a litigation form in Novato, and soon she won a consistent scholarship from the San Francisco Paralegal Association. It seems that with a bit of courage and lots of work, anyone can reach his/her goals. For Jen Walters, the time was right, and it seems that from this point further, the sky is the limit! We expect to hear more from Jen after she gains some experience in the paralegal field.
